In April of 2012, a Master Coastal Plan is scheduled to be presented to state legislation. Voice of the Wetlands wants to ensure the allocated funds are used as intended, and all aspects of coastal Louisiana are evaluated and treated equally - environment, community, and economy. VOW advocates for regulations be set to hire only local, Louisiana workers and companies for on-going restoration and preservation projects; that the state provide transitional plans and financial support for families forced to make life altering changes to adjust to the ever changing coast.
VOW urges everyone to use your voice to get in touch with your local representative to reinforce the above components are passed in the plan. Contact your local representative today. Encourage him/her to take a stand for Louisiana's wetlands - it's people, unique culture, breathtaking environment, and the economy that impacts the U.S. The time is now. BE THEIR VOICE.
